CONSTITUTION  of  The  American  Legion

For God and Country, we associate ourselves together for the following purposes: To uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America; to maintain law and order; to foster and perpetuate a one hundred percent Americanism; to preserve the memories and incidents of our associations in the Great Wars; to inculcate a sense of individual obligation to the community, state and nation; to combat the autocracy of both the classes and the masses; to make right the master of might; to promote peace and good will on earth; to safeguard and transmit to Posterity the principles of justice, freedom and democracy; to consecrate and sanctify our comradeship by our devotion to mutual helpfulness.

About Our Post:

Post 318 is conveniently located off of Federal Highway, just south of Prima Vista Blvd.  Besides being home to 1400+ Comrades, the Post is home to an extremely active Auxiliary, Sons of the Legion and Legion Riders organizations.
All aspects of Post 318 are pro-active in the community and host or support numerous activities throughout the year.  Honor Guard for fallen veterans, Color Guard for flag raising ceremonies, a Special Olympics for disabled children, outreach to homeless veterans, Memorial Day and Veterans' Day services and an Annual Children's Christmas Party for needy children are just a few of those events.  In addition the Post holds numerous events throughout the year for it's members enjoyment that include weekly dinners and dances.  A list of all meetings and events is posted monthly in our calendar.
Thinking of joining the Legion, Auxiliary, Sons or Legion Riders??  Stop by the Canteen anytime or join us at one of our meetings.  Our members would be glad to tell you about the Post and provide details of eligibility and membership.

For God and Country
Richard Feldman, Commander

Have They Been Forgotten?

Have they been forgotten?
We can't know what they've been through!

They were fighting for our freedom,
and to this country, they stood true.

They have lost so many brothers,
in lands both near and far.

Have they been forgotten?
Do you know, who, they really are?

They fought in countless battles and they've been there till the end.
They may have been your brother, father, son, or friend.

Let's not forget the women. who were right there by our side, all
fighting for our freedom, with the same great sense of pride.

Many of them are still missing, and some never made it home,
so don't forget to thank them for the service they have shown.

They are America's Veterans, who have fought to keep us free.
Have they been forgotten? Is the thought that worries me.
